Glossary

All that transpires in an individual’s world is recorded in a substance and dimension known as akasha (Sanskrit, from the root kas ‘to be visible, appear,’ `to shine brightly,’ `to see clearly’). Akasha is primary substance, the subtlest, ethereal energy vibrating at a certain frequency so as to absorb, or record, all of the impressions of life. These records can be read by adepts or those whose soul (psychic) faculties are developed.

The soul's permanent bonding to the Holy Christ Self, in preparation for the permanent fusing to the I AM Presence in the ritual of the ascension.

The Divine Wholeness of the Father-Mother God affirmed as the beginning and the ending by the Lord Christ in Revelation. Ascended twin flames of the Cosmic Christ consciousness who hold the balance of the masculine-feminine polarity of the Godhead.

The 2,150-year cycle following the age of Pisces. The age of Pisces gave us the understanding of God as the Son, exemplified by the sponsor of that age, Jesus Christ. The Age of Aquarius brings us the awareness of God as the Holy Spirit and as the Divine Mother. It is sponsored by the Ascended Master Saint Germain and his divine complement, the Ascended Lady Master Portia. During this cycle, the opportunity will be given to humankind to apply the laws of freedom and justice, the science of precipitation and transmutation, and rituals of invocation to God that can bring in an age of enlightenment and peace such as the world has never known.

Michael is the archangel of the first ray of protection, faith and the will of God. He is the Prince of the Archangels and the Angelic Hosts, the Defender of the Faith, the Angel of Deliverance.

Prayers, decrees and hymns to invoke the assistance of Archangel Michael, the hosts of the Lord and the nine choirs of angels for the resolution of personal and planetary problems and for the binding of the forces of Evil attacking the children and youth of the world.

Enlightened spiritual beings who once lived on earth, fulfilled their reason for being and have ascended, or reunited, with God. The ascended masters are the true teachers of mankind. They direct the spiritual evolution of all devotees of God and guide them back to their Source. They come from every era, culture and religion, and they are united in what is called the “Great White Brotherhood.” The term “white” has nothing to do with race but instead refers to the tremendous white light (halo) surrounding their forms.

A spiritual acceleration of consciousness that takes place at the natural conclusion of one’s final lifetime on earth whereby the soul reunites with God and is free from the round of karma and rebirth. It is our ultimate goal in life.

The emotional body of man. This body is tied up with our subconscious and our most intense desires and momentums. The shell of the astral body is the astral ka and it is what people see when they when they say, “I saw a ghost.” The ghost is the astral body of the departed person--a replica of him.

A frequency of time and space beyond the physical, yet below the mental, corresponding to the emotional body of man and the collective unconscious of the race; the repository of mankind’s thoughts and feelings, conscious and unconscious. Because the astral plane has been muddied by impure human thought and feeling, the term “astral” is often used in a negative context to refer to that which is impure or psychic.

The island continent that existed where the Atlantic Ocean now is and that sank in cataclysm (The Flood of Noah) approximately 11,600 years ago as calculated by James Churchward. Vividly depicted by Plato; "seen" and described by Edgar Cayce in his readings; recalled in scenes from Taylor Caldwell’s Romance of Atlantis. It is postulated that Atlantis and the small islands to its east and west formed a continuous bridge of land from America to Europe and Africa.

(Sanskrit, 'a being of bodhi or enlightenment.') A being destined for enlightenment, or one whose energy and power is directed toward enlightenment. A Bodhisattva is destined to become a Buddha but has forgone the bliss of nirvana with a vow to save all children of God on earth. An Ascended Master or an unascended master may be a Bodhisattva.

(From Sanskrit budh 'awake, know, perceive.') "The enlightened one." Buddha denotes an office in the spiritual hierarchy of worlds that is attained by passing certain initiations of the sacred fire, including those of the seven rays of the Holy Spirit and of the five secret rays, the raising of the feminine ray (sacred fire of the Kundalini) and the "mastery of the seven in the seven multiplied by the power of the ten."

The human ego, human intellect, and human will; the animal nature of man and woman.

Interpenetrating color spheres of light surrounding each one’s I AM Presence at spiritual levels. The spheres of the causal body contain the records of the virtuous acts we have performed to the glory of God and the blessing of man through our many incarnations on earth.

(Sanskrit, `wheel, disc, circle.’) Center of light anchored in the etheric body and governing the flow of energy to the four lower bodies of man. There are seven major chakras corresponding to the seven rays, five minor chakras corresponding to the five secret rays, and a total of 144 light centers in the body of man.

Archangels of the third Ray. Archangel Chamuel, whose name means “he who seeks God,” and his divine complement, Archeia Charity, serve on the third ray of divine love and maintain an etheric retreat over St. Louis, Missouri—The Temple of the Crystal-Pink Flame.

(Hindi, cela from Sanskrit ceta ‘slave,’ i.e., ‘servant.’) In India, a disciple of a religious teacher or guru. A term used generally to refer to a student of the ascended masters and their teachings. Specifically, a student of more than ordinary self-discipline and devotion initiated by an ascended master and serving the cause of the Great White Brotherhood.

The consciousness or awareness of the self in and as the Christ; the attainment of a level of consciousness commensurate with that which was realized by Jesus the Christ; the attainment of the balanced action of power, wisdom and love—of Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and the purity of the Mother through the balanced threefold flame within the heart.

The Higher Self or Real Self; our inner teacher, guardian, friend and advocate before God; the Universal Christ individualized for each of us.

1) An Ascended Master who has attained cosmic consciousness and ensouls the light/energy/consciousness of many worlds and systems of worlds across the galaxies to the Sun behind the Great Central Sun; or 2) A being of God who has never descended below the level of the Christ, has never taken physical embodiment, and has never made human karma.

The science of charting the cycles of the soul's karma and initiations on the twelve lines of the clock under the twelve hierarchies of the Great Central Sun. Taught by Mother Mary to Mark and Elizabeth Prophet for sons and daughters of God returning to the Law of the One and their point of origin beyond the worlds of form and lesser causation.

The cosmic cross of white fire is really you because the vertical line is the fire descending from your Presence, and the horizontal bar is your extension of that light into the physical octave. The cross is the symbol of the manifestation of God, or man. And the cross is the sign of the path of initiation, and we can't pass our initiations unless we're centered in the heart of the cross which is the place of the Sacred Heart. When we get out of alignment with our reason for being, which is this vertical descent of light…we get off the cross…When we get off the path of the cross, we aren't internalizing the Word. When we keep the cross before us we know that we must be fastened to that cross, not as crucified but as the incarnation of the Word.

The law that governs mathematically, yet with the spontaneity of mercy’s flame, all manifestation throughout the cosmos in the planes of Spirit and Matter. The law of karma is a cosmic law. As you sow, so shall you reap.

The body of light that is spun out of the light of the devotees' I AM Presence and woven around the soul by invoking God's holy energies through the practice of the Science of the Spoken Word.^®

An edict, fiat or command. One of the most powerful applications to the Godhead. It is the “Command ye me” of Isaiah 45:11. It is the authoritative Word of God spoken in man and woman by the name of the I AM Presence and the Christ Self. It is the alchemist’s tool and technique for personal and planetary transmutation and self-transcendence.

A message from an ascended master, an archangel or another advanced spiritual being delivered through the agency of the Holy Spirit by a messenger of the Great White Brotherhood.

One’s personal mission. The plan of God for the soul’s individualization of the God Flame.

The threefold flame of power, wisdom and love anchored at the etheric level within the secret chamber of the heart; the soul’s point of contact with her Supreme Source.

The Ascended Master. Lord (Chohan) of the first ray of God’s Will, Chief of the Darjeeling Council of the Great White Brotherhood, founder of The Summit Lighthouse, teacher and sponsor of the Messengers Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet.

A duplicate of the I AM Presence of an Ascended Master.

Is a pioneer of modern spirituality. She has written such classics of spiritual literature as The Lost Years of Jesus, The Lost Teachings of Jesus, Forbidden Mysteries of Enoch, The Human Aura, Saint Germain on Alchemy and Fallen Angels and the Origins of Evil. Mrs. Prophet is also a messenger for the Ascended Masters.

A conglomerate of misqualified energy or disembodied individuals who have chosen to embody evil. Entities that are focuses of sinister forces may attack disembodied as well as embodied individuals.

Members of a small Jewish religious order, originating in the 2nd century B.C. The sect consisted of adult males and celibacy was encouraged. The Essenes lived as a highly organized community that held possessions in common. Ceremonial purity entailed scrupulous cleanliness, the wearing of only white garments, and the most strict observance of the Sabbath.

The highest plane in the dimension of Matter; a plane that is as concrete and real as the physical plane (and even more so) but is experienced through the senses of the soul in a dimension and a consciousness beyond physical awareness. This is the plane on which the akashic records of mankind's entire evolution register individually and collectively. It is the world of the Ascended Masters and their retreats, etheric cities of light where souls of a higher order of evolution abide between embodiments. It is the plane of Reality.

The lower etheric plane, which overlaps the astral/mental/physical belts, is contaminated by these lower worlds occupied by the false hierarchy and the mass consciousness it controls.

Those cast out of heaven into the earth because they betrayed God’s people and challenged not only the Son of God, the Universal Christ, but also the Woman and her seed. They were cast out of heaven by Archangel Michael and his hosts and were given an allotted span to embody in the physical universe and repent of their rebellion against God.

an authoritative decree, sanction, order; a pronouncement; a short dynamic invocation or decree usually using the name of God, I AM, as the first word of the fiat, e.g., I AM the Way! I AM the Truth! I AM the Resurrection and the Life!

Fiats are always exclamations of Christ-power, Christ-wisdom, and Christ-love consciously affirmed and accepted in the here and now.

It is the ascension flame, the white light of the Mother. It’s the ray of purity and its color is pure white. It is associated with the spiritual center or chakra which is called the base-of-the-spine chakra, located at the lowest point of your spine. The ascension flame is also known as the Mother Flame.

The pen name for Guy W. Ballard who was the messenger of Saint Germain. Guy Ballard made his ascension in 1939 and is now known as the Ascended Master Godfre.

A spiritual order of Western saints and eastern adepts who have reunited with the Spirit of the living God and who comprise the heavenly hosts. They have transcended the cycles of karma and rebirth and ascended (accelerated) into that higher reality which is the eternal abode of the soul. The word “white” refers not to race but to the aura (halo) of white light surrounding their forms. The Brotherhood also includes in its ranks certain unascended chelas of the Ascended Masters. Jesus Christ revealed this heavenly order of saints "robed in white" to his servant John in Revelation.

(Sanskrit). A personal religious teacher and spiritual guide; one of high attainment. A guru may be unascended or ascended.

Cosmic hierarchy. The universal chain of individualized God-free beings fulfilling the attributes and aspects of God's infinite Selfhood. Included in the cosmic hierarchical scheme are Solar Logoi, Elohim, Sons and Daughters of God, Ascended and Unascended Masters with their circles of chelas, cosmic beings, the twelve solar hierarchies, archangels and angels of the sacred fire, children of the Light and nature spirits, called elementals, and twin flames of the Alpha/Omega polarity sponsoring planetary and galactic systems.

The I AM THAT I AM; the individualized Presence of God focused for each individual soul; the God-identity of the individual.

The name of God. (Ex. 3:13-15.)

The higher octaves of light. Octaves of the etheric plane or heaven-world where our Higher Self and individual God Self reside with the ascended masters and angels and where our souls travel in our finer bodies at night to the universities of the Spirit to study.

The act of invoking or calling upon a deity, spirit, etc., for aid, protection, inspiration, or the like; any petitioning or supplication for help or aid; a form of prayer invoking God's presence, said especially at the beginning of a public ceremony; a call to God or to beings who have become one with God to release power, wisdom, and love to mankind or to intercede in their behalf; supplication for the flow of light, energy, peace, and harmony to come into manifestation on earth as it is in heaven.

(Sanskrit, meaning act, action, word or deed.) The consequences of one’s thoughts, words and deeds of this life and previous lives; the law of cause and effect, which decrees that whatever we do comes full circle to our doorstep for resolution. The law of karma necessitates the soul’s reincarnation so that she can pay the debt for, or “balance,” her misuses of God’s light, energy and consciousness.

Founded in 1961 by Saint Germain, an organization of ascended masters and their chelas who vow to keep the flame of life on earth and support the activities of the Great White Brotherhood in the establishment of their community and Mystery School and in the dissemination of their teachings. Keepers of the Flame receive graded lessons in cosmic law dictated by the ascended masters and their Messengers Mark and Elizabeth Prophet.

The Kundalini is the sacred fire that lies as the coiled serpent in the base-of-the-spine chakra and rises through spiritual purity and self-mastery to the crown chakra, quickening the spiritual centers on the way. "Our God is a consuming fire" (Heb. 12:29). The sacred fire is the precipitation of the Holy Ghost for the baptism of souls, for purification, for alchemy and transmutation, and for the realization of the ascension, the sacred ritual whereby the soul returns to the One.

Ascended Master Kuthumi, formerly Chohan of the second ray of wisdom, now serves with Jesus in the office of World Teacher. He is hierarch of the Temple of Illumination in Kashmir and is the head master of the Brothers of the Golden Robe. He trains students who are on the ray of wisdom in the art of meditation and the Science of the Spoken Word in order that they may become master psychologists of their own psyche, or soul.

The Ascended Master. His last embodiment was as the twentieth-century prophet, Mark L. Prophet, Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood, and founder of The Summit Lighthouse.

Spiritual light is the energy of God, the potential of the Christ. As the personification of Spirit, the term “Light” can be used synonymously with the terms “God” and “Christ.” As the essence of the Spirit it is synonymous with “sacred fire.” It is the emanation of the Great Central Sun and the individualized I AM Presence—the source of all life.

A ruby ray decree given by Archangels Chamuel and Charity through their Messenger Elizabeth Clare Prophet. A very specific judgment of the specific fallen ones at inner levels on the astral plane or in embodiment.

The ascended beings who comprise the Karmic Board. They dispense justice to this system of worlds, adjudicating karma, mercy, and judgment on behalf of every lifestream. All souls must pass before the Karmic Board before and after each incarnation on earth, receiving their assignment and karmic allotment for each lifetime beforehand and the review of their performance at its conclusion.

A mantle is a cloak of light, a grid or a forcefield of light worn by one who is sponsored by the Great White Brotherhood or by an Ascended Master. Worn at inner levels, the mantle contains within it specific fohatic keys that are anchored in the wearer’s four lower bodies. These keys are a formula or quality of light—hieroglyphs of the Spirit— cosmic computers in capsule form. They have also been described as geometric hieroglyphs or engrams that are encoded formulas of light. This mantle protects the messengers as well as assists them to fulfill their office.

A mystical formula or invocation; a word or formula, often in Sanskrit, to be recited or sung for the purpose of intensifying the action of the Spirit of God in man. A form of prayer consisting of a word or a group of words that is chanted over and over again to magnetize a particular aspect of the Deity or of a being who has actualized that aspect of the Deity.

Messenger of the ascended masters for this age; teacher, lecturer, writer; one of the founders of The Summit Lighthouse with El Morya.

A Messenger is one who goes before the angels bearing to the people of earth the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ and, at the appointed time, the Everlasting Gospel. The Messengers of the Great White Brotherhood are anointed by the hierarchy as their apostles ("one sent on a mission"). They deliver through the dictations (prophecies) of the Ascended Masters the testimony and lost teachings of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to the seed of Christ, the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and to every nation. A Messenger is trained by an Ascended Master to receive by various methods the words, concepts, teachings and messages of the Great White Brotherhood; one who delivers the law, the prophecies and dispensations of God for a people and an age.

When referring to Elizabeth Clare Prophet, a term of endearment used by the devotees of Mrs. Prophet because of her great devotion to the Mother Flame.

Archeia of the Fifth Ray, divine complement of Archangel Raphael, Queen of Angels and the Blessed Mother of Jesus Christ. Her name means Mother Ray (Ma ray).

Since the expulsion of man and woman from the Garden of Eden (the Mystery School of Lord Maitreya) because of the misuse of the sacred fire in the incorrect application of free will, the Brotherhood has maintained mystery schools or retreats. These have served as repositories for the knowledge of the higher spiritual truths.

Lady Master Chohan of the sixth ray of ministration and service. She also serves on the Karmic Board as the representative of the third ray of divine love.

The strait gate and narrow way that leadeth unto Life. (Matt. 7:14). The path whereby, through testing, the disciple who pursues the Christ Consciousness overcomes step-by-step the limitations of selfhood in time and space and attains reunion with Reality through the ritual of the ascension.

Weekly letters of instruction dictated by the ascended masters to their messengers Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet for students of the sacred mysteries throughout the world. Pearls of Wisdom^® have been published by The Summit Lighthouse continuously since 1958. They contain both fundamental and advanced teachings on cosmic law with a practical application of spiritual truths to personal and planetary problems.

A devout petition to, or any form of spiritual communion with, God or an object of worship; a spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession; a formula or sequence of words used in or appointed for praying: the Lord's Prayer; a petition, entreaty.

Elohim of the fourth ray. Purity and Astrea are the Elohim of the fourth ray (the white ray) of purity, perfection, hope and wholeness.

The Christ Self; the I AM Presence; immortal Spirit that is the animating principle of all manifestation.

The spiritual home of an ascended master or heavenly being. Chiefly located in the etheric plane or heaven-world. Some retreats are open to unascended mankind, whose souls may journey to these retreats in their etheric body both between and during their incarnations on earth.

The Ascended Master. Chohan (Lord) of the Seventh Ray of Freedom, Hierarch of the Aquarian Age, sponsor of the United States of America; initiator of souls in the science and ritual of alchemy and transmutation through the violet flame by the power of the spoken Word, meditation and visualization. His retreat in North America is the Cave of Symbols at Table Mountain, Wyoming. He also uses the Royal Teton Retreat at the Grand Teton, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The Word of the Lord God released in the original fiats of creation. The release of the energies of the Word, or the Logos, through the throat chakra by the Sons of God in confirmation of that lost Word. Today disciples use the power of the Word in decrees, affirmations, prayers and mantras to draw the essence of the sacred fire from the I AM Presence, the Christ Self and cosmic beings to channel God’s light into matrices of transmutation and transformation for constructive change in the planes of Matter.

The Light emanations of the Godhead; the seven rays of the white Light that emerges through the prism of the Christ consciousness.

The Seventh Ray is the violet flame ray, the ray of soul freedom and of ordered service to mankind. It is presided over by Saint Germain.

The ray of ministration and service. Jesus’ ray of the Piscean dispensation. It is purple and gold.

The soul is the living potential of God, projected from the I AM Presence into physical manifestation. The soul is not immortal but can attain immortality through fusion with the Holy Christ Self and the I AM Presence in the ritual of the ascension. Since the soul is the feminine counterpart of the Spirit (the masculine polarity) we refer to it as “she,” regardless of whether it concerns the soul of a man or a woman.

An outer organization of the Great White Brotherhood founded by Mark L. Prophet in 1958 in Washington, D.C., under the direction of the Ascended Master El Morya, Chief of the Darjeeling Council, for the purpose of publishing and disseminating the teachings of the Ascended Masters.

The divine spark. The flame of the Christ that is the spark of life anchored in the heart chakra, or heart center, of the sons and daughters of God and the children of God. The sacred trinity of power, wisdom and love that is the manifestation of the sacred fire.

Seventh ray aspect of the Holy Spirit. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit known to mystics throughout the ages but introduced at large by Saint Germain early in the 20^th century. A spiritual fire that can change inharmonious thought and feeling—stress, anger, depression—into a positive and centered disposition. When we give violet flame mantras they cleanse our system of emotional and physical poisons, transmute karma and erase the cause behind the effect of disease. The violet flame even clears the distressing records of past lives.

The center of God's Being. The nucleus of life, the core of Being, in any kind of manifestation, from the highest planes of consciousness to the humblest atom. It is the fiery center of our I AM Presence as well as of the chakras and the rays. It is the Source, the point of our origination.
