Los Angeles or the City of Angels is the largest city in California, United States.  A metropolitan city of approximately 4 million people.  It has a pleasant weather and it is known for its entertainment industry.  I live in a little town north of Los Angeles and away from its sprawling suburbs.

Lowell, Maine, USA

Lowell is a tiny town of 300 people, very rural. We have a beautiful new town hall that incorporates our volunteer ambulance and fire departments. They are open 12 hours per week!  The nearest stores and gas stations are 12 miles away. I have lived here for 19 years and love the peace and elemental life surrounding our home!

Espoo, Finland

Espoo belongs to the Finnish capital region in southern Finland. Its population (almost 300, 000) is the second-largest in Finland next to the capital, Helsinki. It does not have a traditional city centre but instead seven major areas and many local regional centres. Aalto University (technology, economics, art and design) and several major companies are based in Espoo.

Nature is near everywhere in Espoo. The city has a large coastline and about 70 lakes.

Сибай, Башкортостан, Россия

by Elvira Khisametdinova - Wednesday, August 18, 2021, 3:19 AM

My town Sibay is located in the foothills of the Ural Mountains, in the southern part of Russia. The forest-steppe zone perfectly combines the lush greenery of the trees, the smell of steppe grasses and the architecture of the city itself. The city is known for its deep copper and sulfuric ore quarry, which is currently closed. And also the Gadelsha waterfall. The city has a developed network of educational and cultural institutions. And the townspeople themselves enjoy gardening. A video has been filmed about the city, which can be viewed here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o93tOiFygug  Hope you enjoy it!

Oshawa, the city I was born in, is located on the northern shore of Lake Ontario a 30 min drive east of Toronto. Its about 40 miles across across the lake from Upstate New York.   Oshawa is the home of General Motors of Canada and several other automotive related manufacturers.   It is also home to three institutes of higher learning, Durham College, Trent University and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.   It is grown to a population if about 160,000 people.

Sacramento is the state capital (throat chakra) of California and the oldest incorporated city in California. It is the 6th largest city in California with a population estimated at 521,769. Planned and founded by John Sutter Jr. in 1849, the city was named after the Sacramento River. The Sacramento River, and the Sacramento Valley where Sacramento is located, were named after the Roman Catholic Eucharist by Spanish explorer Gabriel Moraga.

Gardiner, Montana, USA

by Jane Hohmann - Thursday, August 13, 2020, 1:03 PM

The population of Gardiner is about 870 people and this is why I like it.  During the summer there are many more people in town who are tourists.  Gardiner is known as the Northern Gate to Yellowstone National Park, visited by about 1 million people each year.  Gardiner is very different when it's not summer tourist season. It is a small and friendly community, located at the southern end of Paradise Valley (the Yellowstone River Valley).  It is between mountains, and the Yellowstone River runs through it.  It's beautiful, and you can walk from one end to the other.  You can also see elk regularly there--you have to be careful not to hit them when you're driving!

Oslo capitol of Norway

by Kari Hedenstad - Friday, August 11, 2017, 9:39 AM

Oslo city is the Capitol of Norway. With the surrounding area there are approximately 1 million people living there. So it is not a big city. Oslo is located in the south of Norway at the end of a fjord, Oslofjorden. Oslo city is surrounded by beautiful hills and forests, a large nature area for recreation as hiking, swimming and skiing.
